Nature Therapy
Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller, MD, FACOG, ABOIM is a physician and author who is board certified by both the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Integrative Medicine. Her family and personal experiences drove her to explore healing modalities beyond pharmaceutical drugs and surgery, including the healing effects of time in nature. As a result, she completed a fellowship at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and has pursued certifications in herbal medicine, Ayurveda, and is a certified nature and forest therapy guide. She has served as medical director of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and is currently lead medical advisor for AllTrails. Recently, she joined the medical team at Chopra Whole Health in Carefree, Arizona.
Dr. Suzanne is the award-winning author of The Outdoor Adventurer’s Guide to Forest Bathing, published in 2019 and A Friend Like John, Understanding Autism, published in 2011. She speaks internationally about integrative medicine and nature therapy. Dr. Suzanne has been quoted and featured in numerous publications and interviews about integrative medicine and nature therapy, including Prevention Magazine (October 2016; August 2017), WebMD, the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Prevention Australia, BBC World, Women’s Health, Forbes Magazine, among others.
